10 Things That Happen On A Hen Do

1.    Your friends will buy you a silly outfit – now this could either be: something that is inappropriate in the eyes of your mother & father and therefore is definitely something you wouldn’t want your family members to see you in or it could even be Elsa from Frozen or a woolly mammoth and you will have to wear it! Better off it could be personalised hen party t-shirts or hen party sashes... maybe you’re not allowed to see the back of the shirt because what your friends have wrote is absolutely shocking, or it could just be wonderful!

2.    Your friends will make you carry around silly things – such as an inflatable doll which is more than likely been ordered from a hen party online shop. Where on a night out whether it’s been your own hen night or you’ve been part of, have you not seen one of these get thrown around from pub to pub? Or you’ve been out and you’ve definitely witnessed seeing one slouched on a chair deserted by the end of the night.

3.    You will play idiotic drinking games – everyone’s main goal on what is supposed to be “a night you’ll never forget” goes straight out of the window as everyone hopes to get you legless by possibly the start of your night. You’re not sure what they’re playing at, since if you get too drunk it would be really inappropriate for them to not take you home OR even just to drop you home and continue into the early hours without you. You also don’t want to be seen as a bore, so I suggest you line your stomach well, sneak as much water into your system whenever you can and make sure you eat before you go to bed, otherwise... I’m guessing there will be some lost invites to the wedding in the morning (just kidding).

4.    You will get asked personal questions – depending on how close you are to the people on your hen night, you can probably imagine what you will get asked! These questions can range from weirdest locations you have been too and then to some questions you may want to keep quiet on if say for the likes of your boss or your mum being in the same room!

5.    Or what could top the answers to the most cringing questions for you... your fiancée has already spilled the beans on EVERYTHING – A big pat on the back goes to your very sneaky and resourceful friends asking him all about your private life together so that they can “surprise you” (Jaws Theme)

6.    There will be at least a brief moment throughout the night when you have to introduce your friends – you’ve had one too many and think it’s a great way to break the ice by introducing your work colleague to your home friend and your uni friend... hmm? What could possibly be wrong with that you say? That your colleague has seen you in a professional manner since the day they met you and now they are being told all the juicy parts about what you used to get up to when you was in Uni. Or if it’s not that, it will be about the other weekend when you was asked by your colleague what your plans were for the Friday night: “having a quiet one, going to do some paper work and work from home on your laptop” when in fact, you didn’t do that at all.

7.    Your friends will treat you to a stripper for your hen do – Even if you begged them not too, they are not going to listen. There is nothing greater than the satisfaction your friends receive after capturing shots of you looking incredibly awkward and concerned about what’s next. It’s also even more nerve-wrecking when you’re trying to not look like you are enjoying it as you know you’re going to be tagged on Facebook the following morning – good luck!

8.    You will be the centre of attention – referring back to number 3, if you’re shy... I would be making great use of those idiotic alcoholic games because there is no escaping of this. However if you’re a bit of an attention seeker, you’re going to love it – because all eyes will be on you and your hen party accessories, foolish mistake you made or not!

9.    Once you all go out – you will most likely feel more embarrassed – it’s your special night, you can be let off! However most of your friends will be trying to grab you free drinks at the bar because it’s your hen night, and yeah that’s fantastic when you’re seated... but not so fantastic if they have you in an almost head lock at the bar!

10.    You will shout “I love you” at least five times and more – Your friends are wonderful, it seems as well too many drinks are in the system and a mass waterfall of tears appear as for starters, it just got real that this is not just an ordinary night out, but you’re getting married! Second of all, your friends have put so much effort into this all for you!

If you’ve already had your hen do then you’ve probably had a giggle at some of these and you’re probably thinking of many more; however these are just general pointers to prepare all the ladies that are newly engaged what to expect from their night out!
